I.R.I.S. 3000 Slot Game

Description

The IRIS 3000 slot game is another unique slot machine from Realtime Gaming. I.R.I.S. stands for Interactive Real Intelligence Slot, by the way, which makes it nice and hard-science fictiony for those who like that sort of thing. The game is a 5 reel progressive which can only be played in one denomination, 50 cents. One of the features about the RTG slot games that I like is being able to actually add money to a machine instead of just having the money come straight out of my bankroll - this feature isn't available on all of their games, but it is available on the IRIS 3000.

To play the game, you select 5 of the 7 doors available on the screen to be open. Each time you select a door, it opens or closes, and there is a delightful "big machine" noise sound effect when you do so. Max bet is 3 coins, or $1.50, and the only way to win the progressive jackpot is to have placed the max bet. If you bet 2 coins, you activate one laser beam, and if you make the max bet, you activate two laser beams. The laser beams, if they land in the right place, will open one or both of your closed doors, which increases your chances of winning.

If all 7 doors open, you get a chance to win a 10X multiplier on any winning combination. The game does feature an autopick button if you don't want to decide for yourself which doors to open and close, and you can also use the rebet button to start the game with the same open and closed doors as before.

The symbols on this game include gold bars, radiation symbols, and hazard symbols. The sound effects were very cool, and when I played, I felt like I was playing a video slot machine version of Doom or some similar high-tech science fiction video game.
