How Has Gaming Changed?Over the years, casinos have seen all kinds of changes – from being run by organized crime to being legitimate businesses; from regular pull handle slot machines to high tech gaming platforms running video screens where anything is possible. But the one thing that remains constant is the love of gambling and the people who come to play. The one thing that hasn’t changed is the fact that at some point all casinos have to be audited. The idea that the Gaming Control Board routinely does audits on the casinos in their jurisdiction is not news. It is their responsibility to ensure that each of the casinos is operating legally and on the up and up. This was a much more difficult task when organized crime was involved in the casinos, but now that they are legal entities, the job has gotten easier in many ways. Auditing has remained the same in a lot of ways as money comes into the casinos via slot machines or table games, and that has not changed. It doesn’t matter the size of the casino, they all make money the same way. The only difference is the amount of money that they are bringing in. With the slot machine floors being computerized in the casinos, it has made the auditing process even easier. Once all of the casinos have the system, the Gaming Control Board’s job will be cut down drastically. Even though there are more casinos than ever, the different types of technology continue to make the process less time consuming.
