Sands Slot Machines Still Bringing in MoneyWith the Sands Casino Hotel set to be demolished in the fall with some sort of organized implosion, the last thing anyone expected was for the slot machines to bring in any more money. However, the slot machines at the casino happened to bring in just over $17,000 recently. The casino was closed last November, as it was purchased by Pinnacle Entertainment and they are planning on razing it and making a new hotel and casino entertainment complex. However, as they were removing all of the old slot machines, underneath them they found a total of $17,193.34 in coins that had dropped and fallen underneath the machines over the past three decades. There were 2,350 slot machines that had to be moved, and most of them had not been moved in the last 26 years that the casino had been open in Atlantic City. Workers expected to find some cash, but not the amount that they ended up finding. They found mostly coins and tokens, but they also found a $100 bill. Pinnacle Entertainment will get the money, but New Jersey will get 8% of the total find, just as if it had been won by gamblers. Workers found the money under the slot machines, between them, and even under the rugs.
