Mohegan Sun Offers More Than Just Slot Machines

The Mohegan Sun is expanding and they have a lot more to offer than just more slot machines. The casino is under construction for its Casino of the Wind, and it is going to cost them $925 million before they are done.

The casino is going to have more slot machines, more table games, etc. – all the things that one would expect in a casino. But it will also have something that you don’t normally expect – windows. Traditionally casino owners don’t want you to be able to see outside so you don’t have any idea of what is going on out there.

But the casino is adding a massive water wall as well as a large window so that clients can look out over the Thames River while at the Margaritaville restaurant. Mitchell Etess, President and CEO of Mohegan Sun, says that he is “pleased” with the way that everything was turning out.

With both the Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods watching their slot machine revenues plummet as more states add the machines, they knew that they had to do something to increase sales. With Foxwoods already opening their expansion, the Mohegan Sun is chomping at the bit to open their own and bring in more business.
