Mont Tremblant Gets Slot Machines

The people of Mont Tremblant are excited today as the plans to build a slot machine casino in their town by next summer (2009) were shown today. Officials got together in town to discuss the plans and to announce where they were headed with the project.

The slot machine casino is coming to a town that is already a tourist haven, and will be built on their south slope. They are planning on having 400 slot machines, 20 gaming tables, five video poker games, and a private room for their high rollers.

Local officials think that the slot machine casino will bring them in somewhere around 700,000 visitors a year – as well as $50 million in revenue. With the addition of this casino, they are looking at four total slot machine casinos in the town.

It must be mentioned however, that this meeting was originally scheduled for earlier in the month – but was rescheduled. The reason: a man who had been gambling at the Montreal Casino on Île Notre Dame had lost a great deal of money and had killed himself.
