Ohio Bar Owners Want Slot Machines Bar owners in Ohio want slot machines and are tired of their government telling them that they cannot have them. They want the general public to vote because they say that they know that they will approve them. They say that the voters could decide and they think that there are more people that want slot machines than don’t. With so many people lately complaining about the fact that the Ohio Racing Association is trying to get slot machines legalized at tracks without getting voter approval – they say that it is a nice change of pace to be asked. They argue that if they wanted slot machines legalized they would have voted them in years ago – but they don’t so they didn’t. However, tavern owners say that not only do they want the slot machines but that they think residents do as well. They think their plan for getting slot machines in is not only going to make the residents and the governor happy, it is going to make the legislature happy as well. They say that their plan would not circumvent the voter as they would have to approve it, but it also wouldn’t rewrite the state’s constitution. The plan would have a precinct by precinct vote where it allowed voters to decide on slot machines at bars the same way they decided about liquor sales on Sunday’s. They say that it makes it all that much simpler and it would keep everyone happy. They say that the critics won’t have much to criticize on a plan like this one.
