AG Looking for Changes
Ohio
Attorney General Mike DeWine is looking for some changes. He
thinks that the internet cafés that have been popping up need to
be regulated as he is concerned about the slot machines that
have been running at them. DeWise says that he wants to see
legislation passed that would establish oversight of gaming that
takes place at these internet cafés and other places that follow
the same business model. He said that the games that are being
run in these places look too much like slot machines which leads
to confusion for both the players and law enforcement personnel.
He
thinks that too many of them are walking that line between what
is legal and what is not, and since there are so many of them
now there needs to be some steps taken that will handle the
situation. He said that by regulating machines that are
unregulated right now that there will be a safer gaming
experience for all involved. He is working with a couple of
state representatives to get the legislation passed, and to let He wants to ensure that when you are playing these slot machine games that you are not being swindled by the people offering them. The owners of the slot machines would need to have licenses issued by the Casino Control Commission that shows that they are legal and that they have been tested by an outside laboratory. This way they can insure that they are on the up and up.
