Foxwoods Looking Good

It took a long time but the Foxwoods Resort and Casino is pleased to announce that they are finally starting to see improvement in their numbers. The casino says that they are happy to report that they have managed to gain slot machine revenue over the previous year’s numbers. They said that their March slot machine revenue is higher than it was this time last year, which is a big deal. Up until this point the casino has been seeing their numbers below what they had previously brought in, which made many wonder if they were ever going to see the end of the recession.

The Mohegan Sun was not as fortunate as Foxwoods was however, and they saw a 1.6% decline over the previous year’s numbers. So while they saw theirs go down, Foxwoods saw theirs go up 0.3% which does not seem like a lot until you factor in the fact that you are dealing with millions of dollars.

The Connecticut slot machines have not been doing as well as they are used to, so it has been a hard year for the casinos, and for the state. After all, if the state is not bringing in the millions and millions of dollars that the state has come to depend on, then how is the state going to support the many programs that are fed by that revenue? So the state has been doing everything it can think of to bring in more slot machine revenue, and in the process they have managed to come up with the winning combination. They say that they felt that the increase in free slot machine play was a big factor in bringing people in.
