Infante Found Guilty of SlotsFrank R. Infante, Jr., a former gubernatorial candidate, was found guilty of a misdemeanor charge of operating slot machines in his bar. The candidate, operator of Bulldozer’s Saloon in Smyrna, was operating three illegal video slot machines in his bar. The slot machines were confiscated in March by the state Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement.Infante’s bar was one of six businesses raided and found to be operating illegal slot machines. Slot machines are not illegal in the state, but they are illegal if not in one of the state regulated casinos. Including the three slot machines seized in Infante’s bar, the state seized 23 video poker slot machines in all. If that weren’t enough, he is also facing losing his liquor license, a charge that will be determined by the Delaware Alcoholic Beverage Control Commissioner. He could end up with only a fine, or he could lose his license altogether. No sentencing date has been set yet for Infante, who ran for governor in 2004. Back to August Index - Slot Machines Fan |
