Slot Machine Licenses OpenThe Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has been in the news a lot lately with the announcement that Pennsylvania was now going to be allowing slot machines into the state. They have had a bit of a back up however, not from people applying for the slot machine licenses, but from the board itself. There has been much discussion over whether or not the board will allow those licenses to stand on their own - and distribute across the state; or if they are going to be region specific. The board was somewhat split on the idea, and hence the lack of slot machine movement. They have finally reached an agreement, and now the licenses are flowing. Jeff Coy, board member, was the deciding vote. He really did feel that they should be split up into regions, but realized that the board was getting no where with the stalemate that they had ended up with. So he switched his vote, and they were off. The board immediately issued the first twelve slot machine supplier licenses. The slots law mandates that there must be a 90 day waiting period between the issuing of he slots supplier licenses and the actual slot machine license. All of those that have now gotten their license, after 90 days, will be able to stat issuing slot machines on their own. Back to August Index - Slot Machines Fan |
