Mohegans Moving Ahead with Slot Machines

Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is moving forward with their plan for a slot machine expansion that will not only include the slots, but a buffet, nightclub and retail shopping as well. The Keating Group of Philadelphia is the general contractor for the group, and they broke ground on the new slot machine casino in May. JCJ Architecture is designing the new facility.

The group says that the new expansion of the slot machine casino will bring in about 500 permanent jobs, not to mention the number of construction jobs that will be created by it as well. It is quite a boon for the area.

With the other slot machine casinos vying for the same dollars that Mohegan Sun is, it is imperative to pull out all of the stops when trying to get people to come play your slot machines over the guy next doors’. The Mohegan’s were the first to offer slot machines in Pennsylvania, a fact that they are very proud of. The other tracks have been following suit by opening their slot machine casinos as well.

The casino is not just going to be offering slot machines though, they will also be adding electronic table games. They will bring in games such as blackjack, which is allowed because it is just like a slot machine and uses the same random calculations that slot machines use. Table games are still illegal in Pennsylvania, but many think not for long.
