There are many that are upset that slot machines are possibly coming to Minnesota. The residents there seem to have drunk the kool aid for the most part, and they say that this is a good idea. They argue that the horse racing tracks need the money and therefore the slot machines should be legalized. However, there are many still in the state that think that it is a bad idea to bring in the slot machines and they say that residents are not thinking clearly about the idea of them.

They say that if the horse racing tracks are unable to support themselves then why are they being bailed out. They say that this is the problem these days with everything – if a company is not doing well you simply help them do better. Instead, they say that if the company is not doing well, do not give them slot machines, let them go under. They say that there are a lot of other opportunities to gamble in the state, and that slot machines do not have to be one of them.

The tribes that have the casinos already in the state are not happy about it either. They say that they already offer the state slot machines and that they are operated accordingly under federal law. They say that they provide jobs and revenues for them and their people, and that they oppose it due to the “upset of balance” that would occur if it should come to play.
