The gaming industry in Florida has been a weird one. First lawmakers were dead set against bringing in any slot machines or any other kind of gambling, then once Miami Dade and Broward Counties brought in the slot machines the state started looking at all the possibilities that might be ahead of them if they expanded gambling even more. It is remarkable how much they have changed their tune. However, even with the changes and the thoughts that they were having regarding gambling, there are still those that are not going to really benefit from the expansion.

The Jai Alai tracks were hoping to score a little slot machine action of their own, as they knew that if they got in slot machines that they would be able to bring up the amount of money that they have been able to make. Right now the sport is not doing well at all, with the Miami based Florida Gaming Corp saying that they have suffered large losses again this year. They say that they do not expect these numbers to change much, and they hope that the future holds something more for them to the tune of slot machines.

They say that if Florida changes their gaming laws so that slot machines were now legal, it would help them keep their doors open. They say without the slot machines they are going to have to close their doors and that means thousands of people out of work. Obviously the state does not want to see that, but they may not realize the situation that they are in.
