Residents Not Happy with Decision

There are many within the state of Ohio that are not happy with their lottery commission right now. The state of Ohio has long been known as a state that slot machines were just not welcome. The issue has come up before on their voting ballots, and each time someone tries to legalize the slot machines, the state’s residents vote it down. They have made it very clear to their representatives that they are not interested in bringing in slot machines to the state and that they prefer that their reps respect that decision.

Therefore when the governor – who they had voted in because he was against slot machines – started talking about legalizing them without even coming to them for a vote – you had some very upset individuals. They said that the governor was going behind their backs to legalize the slot machines and they felt that it was wrong, especially since he knew how the majority felt toward them.

Then the Ohio state lottery said that they had a way around the voters and that they could simply change their rules to make slot machines legal. This made them even angrier because they feel that they have been shafted. They allowed the state to bring in the lottery, which many were against, because it meant money for the state and it was not a huge amount of gambling. However, this has now changed, and not for the better as far as they are concerned.
