River Rock Revenues
The
River Rock Casino has had its share of tough times. The slot
machine casino has had some real ups and downs and like all
companies was feeling the tightening of the belts that was going
on as part of the recession. But where some casinos are not able
to come back from these past few years, some are able to not
only come back, but to do so in a way that makes you wonder what
recession everyone is talking about. The slot
machine casino has recently reported that they are looking at
$32.4 million in revenue for the quarter ending June 30th.
This means that they have shown a five percent increase over
last year’s numbers – which is pretty good considering that most
people do not have a lot of money to throw away. The casino
feels that a lot of this increase has to do with the aggressive
campaign that they are going through to try and drive slot
machine business their way. They have also spent $5.5 million on
renovations, and they know that their clients like the changes
that they have made to the casino. The slot machine casino is owned by the Dry Creek Band of Pomo Indians and they took in $3.4 million last year. In December they spent millions getting upgraded slot machines, new chairs for the slot machines, etc. so as to make their clients more comfortable and to give them more of what they wanted from a casino.
