Slot Machines in the DesertSan Bernando High Country is calling for slot machines. They voted on a referendum that would have prevented construction on slot machine casinos and they voted it down. The voters went 81% against the referendum, letting everyone know that they are pro-slot machines and they want them. They actually want slot machines to come in the form of a joint effort between two area tribes that would end up in the creation of a slot machine casino complex. The slot machine complex would be located near Barstow, and would be run by the Los Coyotes Band of Cahuilla and Cupeno Indians from San Diego County and the Big Lagoon Rancheria Band of Humboldt County. The tribes are looking to bring in two slot machine casinos as well as almost 4,000 jobs. Because of the number of slot machine casinos that have started popping up around California, the state has brought in billions of dollars in slot machine revenue. There are currently 52 Indian slot machine casinos running, and in those casinos are 13,000 slot machines. Those slot machines are bringing in over $6 billion in revenues. If this complex ends up being approved, it would bring in another 2,500 slot machines.Back to December Index - Slot Machines Fan |
