Foxwoods’ Slot Machines Looking to Expand

The Foxwoods group is looking to increase the number of slot machines that they have, and they are looking to do it in South Philadelphia. The Mashantucket Pequots own the Foxwoods Casino, which is currently the largest slot machine casino in the world. The current slot machine casino is located in Southeastern Connecticut and what was once a bingo hall is how a $1.2 billion empire.

The Foxwoods Casino brings in 25% of their slot machine revenue to the state of Connecticut, and many think that is good business for the state of Connecticut as well. They have been so successful with their first foray into the slot machine industry that perhaps they will bring in more than some of the others that are also vying for the slot machine license.

The tribe’s slot machine casino in Conn. averages 40,000 visitors per day during the week – and that number jumps to 55,000 on weekends. They bring in 1.3 million each year to play the slot machines. Foxwoods has 10,300 employees, three hotels, 30 restaurants, 2 golf courses, retail shops, etc. in addition to its 7,400 slot machines.
