Free Drinks Will Affect Slot Machine Casinos Differently

With the Pennsylvania government allowing free drinks at all of the slot machine casinos, some are wondering what will happen. As it is, the decision to offer slot machine players free alcoholic drinks will be up to each casino. The state said that they can offer the slot machine players free drinks if they want to, but they don’t have to.

PITG, one of those vying for a slot machine license says that they are going to wait to see how the market goes. They said they usually offer them but where the slot machine casino is located has a lot to do with what they offer. Sometimes instead of drinks they may offer some sort of perk instead.

The first slot machine casino in the state, the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, has chosen not to offer the drinks. They offer each slot machine player a free non-alcoholic drink, but otherwise that is all. They are waiting before they make that decision, as they say it is a “multimillion dollar cost to take on” and said that it was under review.

They said that their slot machine players can earn free drinks based on the amount of money they put into the slot machines, but they will not be giving them out at this time. The Meadows Racetrack and Casino is not planning on offering free alcoholic drinks either. They say that they don’t think people are coming to play the slot machines because of the free drinks, so why give them away?
