Japanese Slot MachinesAruze, a Japanese pachinko company, has been awarded a temporary slot machine license for Las Vegas. The company has created many slot machines for Japan, but they have been researching in Las Vegas for two years now and feel they are ready to start designing and manufacturing American slot machines. The two year limited license they had been granted earlier was so that they could figure out the cultural differences between the two countries, so that they could look at creating slot machines that would be accessible to the Las Vegas market. They now have received from the Nevada Gaming Board their operating license for the state – which covers slot machine manufacturing and distributing as well as operating. They have agreed with the board that there will be cultural differences as well as language barriers for the company, so they will hire a bilingual employee who will represent the company in all business matters regarding the slot machine license. Since the company has done so well with their pachinko type slot machines, they feel that they shouldn’t have any problems making a success of their Las Vegas type slot machines as well. They are excited to be given such an opportunity to prove themselves, and think that the American version of the slot machines will be as good as if not better than the Japanese version that has done them so well so far.
