Moscow Restricting Slot Machines

Moscow authorities are making it harder and harder for the slot machine owners and operators. The city is trying to shut down all of the smaller slot machine casinos – those with less than 3,000 square meters. They are also trying to shut down all of the clubs that have slot machines and an area of less than 200 square meters.

Vladimir Platonov, the Chairman of the Moscow city Duma, said that they are planning the above, as well as adding even more amendments into the law as it applies to slot machines. Each of the Moscow casinos must have a minimum of 60 slot machines, 30 gaming tables, etc. Gambling halls must have a minimum of 60 slot machines.

Also, all slot machine licenses that expire before January 1 of next year will be denied. Those clubs that are not renewing before that date can operate up until July 1, 2009. All slot machine casinos must be in one of the four designated gambling zones after that time.
