No Smoking at Slot Machines Should Mean All Slot MachinesThe state of Nevada has passed the Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act, and many small business owners are angry. They say that patrons cant sit at their slot machines and smoke, but they can do it at the casinos. They say that the slot machine and gambling casinos are getting a fairer share than they are and that they are being discriminated against. They say that they are not challenging the fact that they want to stop indoor smoking just the fact that slot machine and gambling casinos are exempt from it. They say that slot machine players will just go to the casinos instead of their businesses because they can smoke there. The law says that since they are restricted businesses in other words there are a maximum number of 15 slot machines allowed and the casinos are unrestricted which means they can have a whole lot more slot machines that they cannot allow smoking but the casinos can. They say that the number of slot machines that the business has should have no bearing on the problem. They say that the distinction between restricted and non-restricted slot machine gambling should not have been used for the Act. They also say that businesses are being treated differently across the board all because of the number of slot machines that they have. Back to December Index - Slot Machines Fan |
