Slot Machines are Almost In, Now How About Those Tables? Some lawmakers in Pennsylvania seem to be jumping the gun a bit – they have just opened their very first slot machines, and they are already talking about table games. The governor, who wanted the slot machines, has said there is no way he will allow table games to come in as well. Governor Ed Rendell said on Wednesday that he would not sign any legislation that brought in table games to their slot machines. He said that the state needs to see the impact that the slot machines are going to have on them before they start adding more stuff. He says that the slot machines are going to have an impact on their state and they have no idea what that is going to be. "We have to make sure that over time, the expansion of [slot machine] gaming is successful, it works well, and whatever negative sides there are to [the slot machines], that we control them," Rendell told reporters. "And until we've had a significant test period to see that in operation, I don't think any of these bills should be considered and I wouldn't sign them." Right
now only slot machines are allowed at Pennsylvania’s gambling
parlors. They have recently had their first slot machine casino
opening, the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. There will be three
more slot machine casinos opening over the next three months if
all goes as planned. Back to December Index - Slot Machines Fan |
