Touted as “America’s playground” there really isn’t much you can’t get in Las Vegas – from slot machines to prostitutes, from card games to theatrical shows, they have it all. You fly into Vegas and even the airport has a row of slot machines just waiting for you to play them. There are more slot machines in Vegas than probably anywhere else in the country. You can play the slot machines in grocery stores and convenience stores, pretty much anywhere.

As you get off the plane you see all the passengers waiting to board sitting at the slot machines, trying to hit that last jackpot before they fly back to their pre-Vegas lives. Once you hit the casinos, there are slot machines everywhere and they are swamped with customers – it doesn’t matter that it is in the middle of the day, it is like that 24/7 around here. There can never be enough slot machines it seems, for even in the middle of the day, sometimes you will see people waiting for a particular machines.

But there is another side to Vegas, one that does not include slot machines. It is high end shopping, and theatrical shows, and sights to see that you just won’t see anywhere else. There are bars, hotels, restaurants to die for, yet some never make it past the slot machines to see them. The city has a 90% occupancy rate through the year, and has over 130,000 hotel rooms across the vast spans of city. If you sit at the slot machines all day you will never see that the city is ever changing to keep up with the competition, and it is rarely the same trip twice.
