The single player versions of the games are found in both the Japanese and the World Mahjong Federation Rules – and are easy enough to learn for those who have never played the game before. The variations of the game allow for the players to play it online on their own.

The player starts the online game with a hand that is one tile away from winning, and they have to complete the hand. They have three chances to choose the tile that will enable the win from a group of 24 face down tiles. The Pro version does need a basic understanding of the game, so it would behoove players to play the first one before tackling the pro version. The difference between it and the regular version is that players have to remove a tile to make a ready hand, then they go on to complete the hand from the face down tiles.
