Sol Kerzner is frequently referred to as the Sun King, for his business dealings in South Africa, and is somewhat of an unlikely winner in the slot machine world. A man who comes from humble beginnings, and was beat up regularly as a child for being Jewish, he has had to fight his way to the top – and has done so successfully.

Kerzner is a billionaire who has managed to finagle his way to the top of the supercasino food chain, and is now set to become the most powerful man in the gambling world of slot machines and supercasinos. No one thought that Manchester would win the title to bring in the slot machines and table games that will make up the UK’s largest casino, for when the original assessment came out Manchester was at the bottom of the list for possibilities.

There are some concerns that since Kerzner has been accused of supposedly bribing politicians, that there may be some connection between the turnaround that Manchester got in the final race. The talk is that New Labour would love this kind of guy to supervise the supercasino in the liberalization of gambling.

He has owned casinos and run thousands of slot machines, and has done so successfully, so one might think that he would be the perfect choice to run this casino. However, with all of the underhanded dealings that he has been accused of, and all of the problems that have followed him, perhaps it is best if the government not choose him to run their first, and perhaps last, supercasino.
