Casino Fined for Underage
Gambling
The
biggest thing that casinos have to worry about is underage
players sneaking in to play the slot machines. All of the
casinos have an age limit and most of them are 21 years old
because of the fact that they serve liquor. But in this day and
age of top notch fake IDs and children appearing much older than
they really are, it can be tough for a casino to keep them out
if they are not diligent about it.
The
Rivers Casino in The
casino agreed to pay a fine of $16,000. State law says that if
you are under 18 you cannot step foot into a casino at all, and
if you are over 18 and under 21 you just can’t go onto the
gaming floor. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is worried
that if these two instances were caught, what about the ones
that aren’t. They are more concerned with the underage players
that don’t get caught and are able to play the slot machines for
a much longer period of time. The
Gaming Control Board has been diligent about keeping underage
slot machine gambling out of their casinos. In the past two
years they have fined for eight occasions for a total of
$232,500 and they have no plans on stopping.
