Kansas Casinos are Owned
by State
The
state of But it
was still very clear on the topic of commercial casinos in that
they did not want to see slot machines coming in across the
state. But the legislature thinks that they have figured out a
way to do it that will not compromise the law. They own the
casinos and the slot machines through the state run lottery,
instead of farming them out to an outside vendor. This makes
perfect sense to all of them as they think that it might behoove
them to offer slot machines because of the money that they can
bring in – and so the state now owns and runs the new Boot Hill
Casino and Resort. They own the table games, the slot machines,
the whole thing.
The
casino’s general manager, Mr. Tamburelli, must run all of his
plans for the casino through the state before he can do
anything. If he wanted to change out the slot machines, he has
to get permission from the state. If he wanted to add something
more to the slot machines or the casino that they don’t
currently have he has to get permission from the state. The state is excited because they know that they now have a way of bringing in a lot more revenue for them, and they didn’t have to change the law to do it.
