Small Casinos Having a
Hard Time
One
would think that the larger casinos and their thousands of slot
machines would be a real adversary for the smaller mom and pop
kind of casinos that are out there. It would seem that there is
a real rivalry between them that would have the smaller casinos
working very hard to try and keep a part of that slot machine
pie. But according to experts the large casinos is not what they
have to worry about – it is the recession. They say
that the people who come to the smaller casinos to play their
slot machines are looking for a very specific gaming experience.
They are looking for a quiet, smaller version of the big
casinos, and they are looking to get a more private place to
play their slot machines. They are just looking for a more at
home version of Vegas. At the bigger casinos they are looking
for all those different kinds of slot machines, and they are
looking for larger prizes – things that they don’t seek out at a
smaller casino. But the smaller casinos say that they have a real problem with the economy – much more so than the bigger ones. They fear that with so many financial problems in the world that their slot machines will be one of the first things to go. They say that the people who go to the larger casinos are there not to spend $10 or $20, rather they are the higher rollers that are looking to drop $100 or more. These are not the people the smaller casinos attract.
