Konami Slot Machines Using SGI TechnologyKonami Gaming is using SGI Technology for their slot machines and casinos. The company has found that the casino management tools that the company offers are the best for them and all of their online gaming sites. Konami Gaming makes the player tracking software that is found in many of the slot machines and other games found in American casinos. The using of SGI is imperative to the company as they need to be able to offer real-time player feedback to their clients. They have already installed seventeen casino management systems with the Oracle 9i database in US casinos. All of their sites of 300 or more slot machines already run on the SGI hardware, and they are planning on installing at least seven more solutions based on the same technology in the future. Since the slot machine has long since been an electronic game as opposed to the lever driven game it was it the past, the new technology offers more possibilities than ever before. Once the player puts their ID card into the slot machine, the machine keeps track of the player’s bets and is able to prompt them about various incentives that the casino is offering. No matter what game the player plays – slot machines, table games, Keno, etc. – the system continues to track the player’s moves. This allows the casino to see what each player likes, and how to promote themselves accordingly.
