Southland Slot Machines Bringing in Millions Southland Park’s slot machines in West Memphis were not expected to do very well. If you were a betting man, you probably would have said that the slot machines would have brought in maybe a couple thousand dollars, only because the talk was that it wasn’t going to fare as well because of the location. It seems that they have proved their critics wrong. Southland actually brought in $1.3 million in slot machine revenue already, and they have only been open two weeks. As it is common knowledge that slot machines are usually the biggest money maker for casinos, having more slots is definitely better than having less. Southland has 800 slot machines up and running in their casino – which accounts for the large amount of revenue that they are bringing in. Oaklawn
Park in Hot Springs has slot machines as well, only not as many.
They have brought in almost a half a million dollars in slot
machine revenue in the same two weeks. Southland does not keep
the entire slot machine revenue, 18% of it goes to the state –
which has it earmarked for several different funds.
