Undersea Slot Machines Not to Be After all of the hype, it looks as though there will be no Undersea slot machine and gambling casino. The company had announced that they were planning on building a slot machine casino offshore, but after looking at the financial records, it looks as though it is not to be. Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech announced that the group known as Cala DBA Undersea Resort and Residences does not have “serious proof of financial standing… [or] due diligence.” They do not seem to have the ability to finish the slot machine project that they had decided to undertake. The company had announced that they were going to take over shipyards to build an offshore undersea casino, but now it looks as if the company may have spoken too soon. The company was planning on building its first resort on Qawra Bay with a hotel, table games, and of course, 800 slot machines. It would have had restaurants, retail spaces, a spa, lounges, etc. The company had originally said that the government was taking too long to come to a decision, and that they were “dragging their feet.” Zammit Dimmech refuted the claim saying that the group had not done what they were supposed to do and that it didn’t even look remotely feasible at this point.
