Government and Manning Accused of HypocrisyCindy Gibbs-Nicholas was impassioned as she literally cried to the UNC yesterday that the government was destroying homes and families by allowing Prime Minister Patrick Manning to behave the way he has. She said that Manning was forcing his personal belief system on the rest of the country and it should be illegal. Gibbs-Nicholas is one of three temporary Senators who took their seats yesterday, and she was the first speaker on the bill. She said that she was there to debate the bill and keep it from passing as the people she represents do not want the bill passed. She said she represents the private members clubs as well as all of the people who would lose their jobs over it. She said that banning slot machines would not only put hundreds out of work, but it would take away the personal freedoms of everyone in the country that likes to play slot machines. She says that the government keeps saying that slot machines are illegal, yet they keep charging $10,000 per slot machine in the country – she said they were a bunch of hypocrites. She said that the prime minister keeps calling for the total ban on slot machines and that Ministers of Government are abiding by the rules while still going to the private clubs where they can play the slot machines. She said that they have targeted the private members clubs while still allowing online slot machines, Lotto and Play Whe.
