Slot Machine Maker Has Higher Sales in JapanInternational Gaming Technology, IGT, had released its year end figures showing that they had had a 20% increase in their sales of slot machines, and now they have more good news. It seems that IGT, easily the world’s largest maker of slot machines, had even more of a profit on their sales in Japan. The slot machine company says that their net income rose much higher than analysts had thought that it would, and they think a lot of that has to do with the specific slot machines that are sold there. They think that the pachisuros slot machines that are sold in Japan had a lot to do with the overall increase in sales. Experts say that the demand for these specific slot machines in Japan could be an ongoing thing for slot machine companies such as IGT as slot machine technology is constantly changing. They say that with new slot machine licenses being given all the time, especially those ones that are for hooking all of the slot machines up to a central computer to adjust the odds and switch games, there might not be any problems bringing in high amounts of slot machine revenue from there. IGT sold almost 15,000 slot machines in Japan in the quarter, as the government has mandate a new deadline of September. Their international sales on slot machines climbed 38% to be an increase of $152 million.
