Kentucky Getting Slot Machines?State Representative Tom Burch is looking to bring Kentucky into the gambling age. In fact, he is hoping to be able to get a bill passed that would allow slot machines to exist legally in the state. There are so many states out there that have either already legalized slot machines or are looking to do so, as they have seen the amount of money that it can put in state coffers. Burch simply wants to see Kentucky get their share of the slot machine boom. The General Assembly has been discussing the merits and pitfalls of legalizing slot machines for the past twelve years, so it is high time they actually got around to discussing an actual bill legalizing them. The bill would legalize 18,000 slot machines in the state – and would be decided on a county by county basis. There are eight licensed race tracks in the state that would get up to 6,000 of the slot machines, and then the counties could decide whether or not they wanted to bring in slot machines locally or not. Burch thinks this will bring in more money for the treasury and more tourists as well.
