It is a terrible thing this economy. Companies right left and center are closing their doors because they just can’t keep them open anymore. Look at companies that have been around for a really long time – Bennegans’, Steak and Ale, Sears, etc. these are all companies that are already gone or they are in the process of trying to fix the leak before the whole boat goes down.

This is the current problem for International Game Technology. The slot machine manufacturer has always prided themselves on the best possible games and the most state of the art graphics, cutting edge technologies, etc. However, it seems that none of it is enough.

The slot machine company has started laying people off. They had some big layoffs before the end of last year, then started this year off with some more. They have also announced that they will be laying off even more people as they try to cut the fat so to speak. The slot machine company has many areas that they are proficient in, but they are not enough to keep them up and running.

The slot machine manufacturer laid off about one thousand people so far with more to come shortly. Their stock is down because of all of the lay offs which is not helping them much. They have been getting rid of employees both globally and domestically, with their Reno office being hit harder than many others. They have already said that the next round will include more from there as well.
