Everything in the casino - slot machines, telephones, TVs, etc. – is all run through the data center so that it can be strictly regulated by the IT department at the casino. Everything is hooked into a network and everything is run through this room. They said that the biggest reason for doing it though was the benefit to the slot machine players.

These slot machines run faster on the servers, and the casino has the ability to track each individual slot machine so they know how it is running. They know if someone has won, lost, etc. They know how much money is in the slot machine and how much the casino has taken in from players. They literally have a snapshot of each and every slot machine through their data center – which makes things infinitely easier for the casino to keep track of their daily wins and losses.
