Motel Owner Arrested for Illegal Slot MachinesAllegedly, Clarence King, Jr., owner of the Airport Motor Inn has been running an illegal slot machine gambling room. He has been running it since before February of this year, as that is when the police discovered the illegal slot machines. King has been running his motel, lounge, and slot machine gambling house for months, even after being told to pack it up. Police say that they went to the motel in February and told King that he had to pack up and get rid of all of the illegal slot machines. Police believed that King had done just that. They were led to believe that King had loaded the slot machines up and taken them away. However, this week they received a tip saying that the slot machines were either still there, or had come back, and that the gambling room was back open for business. Lt. Mike Gwynes was one of the arresting officers, and he says that when you went into Room 112 of the motel, there were 31 slot machines up and running. He says that King had knocked down the walls from three other motel rooms. This enabled him to run the slot machines and give him plenty of room to bring them all in. King was arrested and is facing charges of running an illegal gambling house.
