Cross Lanes Will See Expansion if ApprovedWith Jefferson and Ohio Counties in West Virginia having already determined who would get table games and who wouldn’t, Kanawha County voters are chomping at the bit to see if they will get them or not. If they do, it will change the face of Cross Lanes forever. If approved for table games, Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center in Cross Lanes is looking to do a $250 million expansion to put them in. They will be adding a hotel with pools and spa, an entertainment complex, parking garage, retail shops, boutiques, convention facilities, and restaurants. There would also be room for more slot machines and of course, the table games. It will bring in about 1,000 permanent jobs, as well as three to four hundred construction jobs. Residents of the county seem to be leaning in favor of the table games, for they know that the jobs are truly needed. They also know that a portion of the revenue would go towards the schools as well. Meanwhile, the track says it turned out well that they had to delay their vote, because this gives them more opportunity to get out to residents how good the table games will be for them. But those that are against the expansion in gambling say that it gives them more time as well, only they will be working to keep the games illegal.
