Golden Gaming, Golden Ticket

Golden Gaming was nothing more than a small slot machine route operating company when it opened back in 2001. Today it has increased its employees from 44 to 2,000 and has more slot machines than you can blink an eye at.

They have added more pubs and casinos, and is managing other casinos as well. Blake Sartini is the brains behind the business, and as the company’s president and CEO he says that the company has gotten much bigger than he ever imagined it would. They just added their 44^th tavern under its Sierra Gold Brand, and he finds it immensely amusing how far he has come over the last five years.

He said he was always just focused on the routes, and had initially paid $14 million for the company. He changed the name from Southwest Gaming to Golden Gaming, and now it is Nevada’s largest tavern owner with its PT brand of pubs, and is the state’s third largest slot machine route operator.

The company now has more than 2,500 slot machines in more than 200 locations. But they aren’t done yet. They just acquired the rights to manage another casino and its slot machines as well. They continue growing slot machine wise and employee wise. Analysts say that one of the reasons why the company has been so successful is that Sartini surrounds himself with other casino people who have been successful in their own right.

But they say most of the success is due to Sartini himself, as he is very business savvy and came into the business knowing slot machines – which is all he really needed to know to sell his product.
