Illegal Slot Machines FoundIn Biloxi, Mississippi, police found illegal slot machines at a local establishment. The police had gotten a tip that their local American Legion was operating an illegal slot machine room in the back of the business, and went in to ensure that the tip was false. Unfortunately for the business, it wasn’t. One American Legion official was arrested, and two slot machines were seized when police investigated the location. The hall was the American Legion Post 33, and the slot machines were located in the back of the building – the hall is located downtown. The slot machines were illegal, and were the Cherry Master brand slot machines. Police Sergeant Bobby Darden said that they arrested Glenn Bremencamp, 74, of Popp’s Ferry Road. Bremencamp is being charged with two misdemeanor counts of illegal possession of a gambling device. Darden said that they thought the slot machines were offered by the organization for slot play, and they seized both the machines and their proceeds. Bremencamp posted a $440 bond at the Police Department, and was released awaiting a hearing. The hearing will be held in Biloxi Municipal Court.
