Democratic state leaders have been pushing for the legalization of slot machines, and the group is bound and determined that they won’t be. They have Comptroller Peter Franchot on their side, and have had many meetings over strategies to keep the slot machines out. The group says that they have no money to fight, and that many of their supporters had left the group, but that they would be looking to Republican lawmakers and religious groups to help them in the fight.
