WV Table Games Training Begins

Now that table games have been approved by the voters for West Virginia’s Ohio County, someone has to train all of these dealers so that they know what they are doing. With the racetrack planning on having their first table games up and running by Labor Day, they really need to get the training underway.

Therefore, dealer school is now open at West Virginia Northern’s Hazel Atlas Building for those that have been hired as dealers for the new table games. They will be training them on dice games as well as card games, and the race track will be offering both.

Training started Monday, and their instructors were using make-shift card tables to show the would-be dealers what they will be looking at when they are actually on the floor. There are 16 blackjack tables, two craps tables and one roulette wheel for training purposes.

West Virginia Northern Community College says that this is a great opportunity for the school to get to train all of the future employees for the tracks. They said that they will be using all of the tools of the trade to teach their students, and they will leave there knowing what to do. They said that they will also be training those from Hancock County should it pass there as well.
