Hearing Delayed

Those that want to limit the amount of slot machines in Vernon are going to have to wait a little longer for their day in the sun. They want to limit the number of slot machines to 400, and had a hearing planned for July but now it has been postponed.

The slot machine discussion was postponed from July 14^th until either later on in the month or sometime in August. The council decided that they wanted to add more wording to the proposal that would not only limit the number of slot machines that could be brought in, but that it would limit where they could go as well.

They want the slot machines to be in one location, and not all around the town. By adding the proposals together into one they can save themselves the time and expense of another meeting.

Had they moved forward on the proposal with just the limit of slot machines, they would have had to have had another meeting to discuss the location issue. This solves both problems with the one bill. They say that this solves the problem of the location as well, as they currently have one location that will hold 400 and they are currently telling them they can only have 300.
