It is a simple question – who plays slot machines? When asked, most people will automatically say that it is the elderly who play the most slot machines, but where are these “elderly” coming from? At one point they have to be younger than they are now, so have they always played slot machines or did they start out at another game and then switch as soon as they became old?

They simply shy away from them because they know what they like and they stick with it. Some play because they don’t like table games – and want to be able to do their own thing. Others play slot machines because they like the fact that it is a solitary endeavor – and they don’t have to worry about what everyone else around them is doing.

Some say that they do it simply for the possibility of what might come out of playing the slot machines. They say that slot machines pay out really well when they do hit, and they figure why not give it a try. And then of course there are the die-hards who will play only a specific slot machine because they believe that they will win, when everyone else knows that they probably won’t.

Although it is true that most slot machine players are women, their reasons for doing it are varied. So who plays slot machines? The question is more who doesn’t?
