Macau Seeing Big Wins

While everyone else seems to be doing rather poorly when it comes to slot machine revenues, there are some that are doing extremely well and are very proud to admit it. Places like Las Vegas and Atlantic City are reporting slight increases over last year, but their slot machine revenues are still way down from where they were. But Macau is not having any problems with their slot machines and their revenue – and they have just posted yet another monthly record gambling revenue amount.

It would appear that Macau is the place to be, and that with Singapore recently opening two new mega casinos, they are poised to easily become that most popular gambling destination of our recent times. It would appear that places like Las Vegas and Atlantic City may have overstayed their welcome – for when it comes to international gaming, this is the place to be.

Their slot machine revenue surged almost 95% in May to a record 17 billion patacas which is the equivalent of $2.1 billion in US dollars. With numbers like these, it is no wonder that more and more slot machine companies are looking to Macau to make or break them. They said that with this area now being the fastest growing they are not sure how they would compete with that in the US. Bally says that the outlook for slot machines in Asia is “very, very positive” and that there are not currently enough slot machines for the demand that is coming out of Macau for them.
