Smoking Ban Affects Everything

It used to be that if you wanted to smoke and play the slot machines pretty much anywhere in Vegas you could. However, with the new smoking bans it is getting harder and harder for anyone to find a decent place to light up. The employees are happier because they want to be able to work in a clear air environment, but the players want back the old days when they could smoke as they pleased.

But what about conventions and get-togethers that focus on smoking, like the annual group that gets together to enjoy some slot machines and some cigar smoking? Such groups are finding it harder and harder to adapt to a smoke free world, especially inside of their Vegas Casinos. They want to play, they want to spin the slot machines, and they want to smoke.

These types of groups will have to find other venues, or as one casino official put it – the casinos are going to have to come up with better ways of keeping these groups happy while abiding by the law of the land. At least some of the locations aren’t as bad as others, while some casinos are looking to go completely smoke free. There are still some options for the smoke loving crowd and their slot machines but those options are drying up fast.

These specialized groups say that they are going to have to consider a change in venue soon, as they expect that it is just a matter of time before the whole state is smoke free, which is unfortunate because they are saving their employee’s lungs, but they are dooming the state to higher taxes as people choose to spend their smoking time elsewhere.
