California Man Busted for Illegal Slot MachinesMichael Nordyke was selling a slot machine on CraigsList when he happened to get an unusual group of visitors – the California State Police. Nordyke bought the slot machine online off of Ebay, and used it to decorate his game room, not realizing that it was illegal to have it in his home at all. Because the slot machine took tokens Nordyke thought it was just a toy and had it in his game room. However, the law enforcement officers who stormed his home with guns and bullet proof vests saw it differently. Nordyke released the slot machine to the police, and then had to go to court. His Pachislo slot machine could be converted to take coins, which is why it was illegal in the state of California. He thought the slot machine was legal since even Target sells it. However, Target says they cannot sell it to California residents. Nordyke owns several toy slot machines, and is now looking at community service for the owning of the illegal slot machines. He has to go in front of a judge this month to see what his ultimate sentence will be. He says if the woman, who turned out to be an undercover police officer, had just identified himself and told him that he had illegal slot machines, he would have gotten rid of them. Instead, he says she came back a month later with cops and guns to arrest him.
