Dutch Government Signs Deal

The Dutch government is pleased to announce that they have signed a deal with Cryptologic to provide online gaming services. The government had been looking for a company that would give them what they desired in an online gaming service and Cryptologic signed the deal.

Cryptologic, a leading software provide to online gaming markets, has signed a three year deal with the government, but that does not really change how gambling is handled in the Dutch market. Currently, the government has a monopoly on gaming services, and markets the online Holland Casino – which is an online version of the casino that the government owns and runs.

It is not known how the European government is going to react to either this deal or the online Holland Casino, and the Dutch are awaiting word. The last time they got involved in this sort of thing was with the British company Ladbrokes, who it turned out never had a Netherlands’ license to operate, which it needed to be their partner.

Dutch Lotto sued Ladbrokes and won, so now they just have to wait to see how this one will pan out. Many are waiting to see how this will affect other markets, and if they will be able to keep it in house instead of allowing foreign competitors in.
