Foxwoods’ May Not Have Disclosed Everything

The Pennsylvania Gaming Board announced this week that one of the reasons they chose Foxwoods to run the waterfront casino is because they did not have any ties to Atlantic City. In that many were concerned with the choice because of the traffic that would be added to that location, with this announcement many are now thinking that perhaps something shady was going on behind the scenes of the slot machine licensing process.

There are issues of integrity with the Foxwoods application for the slot machine license, as Foxwoods may have misrepresented themselves on their application. They said that they have no ties to Atlantic City, whereas it seems that they have been exploring the idea of opening a casino there in conjunction with the MGM Mirage. They have been looking at a site next to the Trump Marina, which is already owned by MGM.

Both groups vying for the slot machine license said that they had no interest or ties in bringing a casino to the shore, but obviously that isn’t the case. Foxwoods executives have said adamantly that they have no plans to go that route, but in light of the new information, it looks as though their opponents may have an opening for a lawsuit.

There are already more than 27,000 names on a petition to keep Philadelphia free, and they are bringing the petitions to the City Council whom they want to change the city’s charger on gambling. They want gambling made illegal in their city, because they know that there are way too many problems associated with it.
