Mayors Disagree About Table Games RevenueNitro Mayor Rusty Casto has been in the news lately saying how he disagrees as to how the table games revenue will be divvied up. Casto says that the $65,781 that the state is offering them is not nearly enough to make up for the expenses that they will have. He says that amount isn’t enough to cover just Charleston Mayor Danny Jones disagrees and says that they are getting more than enough. Charleston is set to get $628,416 over the same period of time. Jones says that the figures aren’t set in stone, so it isn’t like there can’t be changes, but he says that if Casto had a problem with the figures he shouldn’t have waited so long to say something. He said that they could have been in the decision making process, but they chose not to be and now they have to settle for what they get. The state has racetrack counties and municipalities sharing 5% of the total fund revenue. The actual amount that each will get is based on the amount of funds that their tracks bring in, as well as population. Casto, his fire chief and his City Treasurer have all been speaking to the House to try and get the allocation method changed, while Jones and others like it just as it is.
